Cameron Crowe Recruits Witherspoon and Stiller for His Next Film

New rom-com offered up as Crowe's next

Cameron Crowe’s last film was the 2005 dramedy Elizabethtown starring Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst. The film only mustered up $26.8 million at the box-office, not exactly hitting home with audiences to the extent the director’s previous films such as Jerry Maguire and Almost Famous did. Well, Crowe is finally ready to get back to work again.

Crowe will direct an untitled romantic comedy from a script he wrote and Reese Witherspoon and Ben Stiller are set to star in the film for Columbia Pictures.

There isn’t a lot to say about the picture as any and all story details are not being revealed, but it is known that the film will be getting underway in January once Witherspoon and Stiller’s schedules open up. The script must be pretty good though considering Columbia had to pony up some serious cash to beat out four rival studios in an effort to secure the pic.

Personally I like Crowe’s films even though I didn’t care much for Vanilla Sky due to what I consider a terrible ending and I never caught Elizabethtown, but Laremy gave it a glowing review and perhaps I should give it a once over.

To my own complete surprise I actually liked vanilla sky. Even the ending.
As for Elizabethtown I couldn’t watch it completely but from what I’ve seen I understand why my wife likes it. Well done, just wasn’t my thing.
